Swipe, or use arrow keys / WASD, to hop one square at a time. Land only on a 0 — the X looks the same at a glance, but it isn't. A gap in the water is a wormhole: it won't kill you, but you'll pop up somewhere else. You can't hop off the top or bottom edge and live. Three lives, no continues.
